| Local students perform with Pan Jive Steel Drum Band |

October 15, 2013 was a day that many of Shelby High School’s music students will not soon forget. That evening, along with Pan Jive and the Shelby Middle School 8th Grade Chorus, the Shelby High Percussion Ensemble and Chorus embers took Malcolm Brown Auditorium by a cultural storm! Pan Jive is a high energy instrumental steel drum band performing on authentic drums from Trinidad. They accompanied the Shelby High and Middle School students in an array of musical instruments from Calypso, Spanish to American Oldies and even 80’s Pop. Several members of the chorus also performed solo pieces including Dustin Tallent, Kadasha Wray, Tyrone Allen, Simone Tribble, M’kayla Corry, Felicity Hamilton and Kristina and Jennifer O’Neal.
