The Shelby Salvation Army honored Anita Sprinkle Roberts of Shelby, at its May 18, 2017, National Salvation Army Week Appreciation Dinner. Celebrating with her are The Salvation Army Planned Giving Director Jessica Chapman; local officers Sgt. Mary Ashby and Sgt. Les Ashby; and the event's guest speaker, Major Terry Israel, community relations and development secretary of the Southern Territory based in Atlanta.
Roberts' framed certificate was given "in recognition of valuable yet priceless service to our community," with Israel praising her and other supporters and volunteers for "doing something in tangible ways that expresses our faith."
