Lois Faulkner Street, age 85, of Gantts Grove Church Road, Mooresboro, passed away Friday, January 11, 2019 at Hospice of Carolina Foothills.
Lois was born in Cleveland County on October 29, 1933 and was a daughter of the late Ellis Newton, Sr. and Ellen M. Lovette Newton. She worked at the Ester Mill in Shelby and then for Fasco Industries. Her last job was as an Associate for the Wal-Mart in Forest City for fifteen years. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and served with her late husband in the Senior Ministry. She treasured serving with and being with her church family. Lois especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, travelling and going on trips to the beach.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, James "Junior" Faulkner who passed away in 1978 and her second husband, Benny Street who died in 2014; daughter, Charlene Conner; two sisters, Lillian Mode and Barbara Annette Newton.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Donna K. Fox of Mooresboro; two sisters, Judy Head and husband, Bill of Grover, NC and Renee Smith and husband, John of Mooresboro; two brothers, Ellis Newton, Jr. of Boiling Springs, NC and Gene Newton and wife, Donna of Willow Springs, NC. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Gina Fox Maness and husband, Doug of Sandy Mush, Penny Fox Ingle and husband, Kelly of Cliffside and Kyle Fox and wife, Cathy of Green Hill, NC; eight great-grandchildren, Paige Bumgarner, Jonathan Maness, Kayla Fox, Jeffrey Ingle, Tristan Maness, Keaton Maness, Cody Fox and Katie Fox; two great-great-grandchildren, Marleigh Bumgarner and Raiden Jenkins.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, January 14, 2019 at Liberty Baptist Church with Reverend Owen Duncan, Reverend Mack Tester and Reverend Robert Lane officiating. Interment will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
