Louise "Weasy" Horn Martin

Louise "Weasy" Horn Martin, age 84 died Wednesday September 2, 2015 at her home. Born in Cleveland County on September 9, 1930 she was the daughter of the late Charles Coleman "Cobby" and Sarah Roberts Horn. Weasy was a graduate of Shelby High School and Meredith College and later obtained a Masters degree from Western Carolina University. Weasy helped to establish the Adult Basic Education Program at Cleveland Community College where she taught for a number of years before retiring. She loved life and loved to travel with family and friends. In addition to her parents, Weasy is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Gold Martin; stepmother, Elizabeth "Lib" Lee Horn; brother, William James "Jim" Horn; step-brother,Bill Lee ; and son-in-law, Scott D. Condie.

Weasy is survived by four daughters, Patricia Laney Noggle and husband Danny of Cherryville, Jane Laney Hamrick of Shelby, Kathy Laney Condie of Ridgeland SC. and Elizabeth Laney Ray and husband Dwayne of Shelby; a brother, Charles "Charlie" Horn and wife Jeri of Shelby; three step-sons, Michael W. Martin and wife Jo of Saluda, Timothy C. Martin and Carol of Colorado, and Mallory G. Martin and wife Melinda of Raleigh; 11 grandchildren, Nicole Ferree Bell and husband Jason, Mandy Worthy Latham and husband Barry, Lindsey Worthy Wood, Dustin Love and wife Hayley, Tyler Love, Savannah Ray, Sara Martin Hughes, Luke Martin, Wes Martin, Mallory Martin, and Thomas Martin; three great grandchildren, Caleb Mellon, Haylen Ellis, and Audrianna Love; sisters-in-law, Linda K. Horn of Shelby and Jean Lee of Forest City; brother-in-law, George Martin of Shelby; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, "Simon, Little Man".

Memorial service will be held on Saturday September 5, 2015 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Len Byers and Perry Holloman officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
