Lucas Lee McKenzie Armstrong

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lucas Lee McKenzie Armstrong, known lovingly as Luke, Bubba and Lukeavitch, on December 28th, 2024, at the age of 28. Born on May 1st, 1996, in Cabarrus County, North Carolina, Lucas was a beloved son, father, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend.

Lucas was the cherished son of Scott and Stephanie Armstrong. He was a devoted father to his precious daughter, Gracelyn Armstrong, and a dear brother to Kayla Armstrong-Bailey and Cheyenne Armstrong. He was also a loving grandson to Mack and Colleen Armstrong.

Lucas was known for his kind heart, infectious smile, and the joy he brought to everyone around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Professionally, Lucas was recognized for his dedication and skill. He was employed by TelWare Inc., a communications company, where he earned respect for his expertise and strong work ethic. In addition to his day job, Lucas spent many nights working as a bouncer at Coyote Joe's, a role that suited his proactive and friendly nature.

Outside of his professional life, Lucas was an active and proud member of the BARBARIAN Rugby Team of Charlotte, North Carolina. Through his involvement with the team, Lucas formed lifelong friendships and created memories that would become a cherished part of his legacy.

Lucas approached life with an adventurous spirit, courage, and a warm heart that drew people to him. His eagerness to explore and face challenges head-on left an impression on everyone he met. Though his life was far too short, it was one well-lived loved deeply, fought bravely, and embraced every moment.

As we say goodbye to Lucas, we celebrate the incredible person he was and the lasting impact he has had on our hearts and the world around him.

A celebration of Lucas's life will be held in the auditorium of Burns High School on Saturday, January 11th, beginning at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Phil Hauser officiating.
