Lucille Moss Hopper

Lucille Moss Hopper, 98, of 223 Old Buffalo Church Road, kept the faith and finished her course on Wednesday, August 17th, 2022, at Novant Health - Mint Hill Medical Center.

Born in Blacksburg, SC, she was the widow of Charles "Jack" Hopper and the daughter of the late Livie and Maggie Moore Moss. Lucille was a loving person who loved her family, which includes her church family. She loved to garden, crochet, sew, read, and, later in life, working puzzles. A true servant of others, Lucille was the oldest member of Buffalo Baptist Church and would do anything that the church needed from cooking and feeding others to bringing children to church.

Surviving Mrs. Hopper are two daughters, Judith H. Edwards and Sandra H. Coe; a grandson, Ashley Edwards (Miranda); five great-grandchildren, Amber Richie (Tyler), Logan Richie (Summer), Jessica Edwards Crowe (Chase), Caleb Edwards (Taylor), and Ayden Edwards; four great-great-grandchildren, Owen and Nora Crowe and Ava and Colton Wilson; special friends, Dan and Debbie Millwood; special grandchildren, Stephen Millwood and Anna Millwood Spencer and husband, Daniel; two special great-grandchildren, Carleigh Millwood and Luke Spencer; and numerous nephews and nieces.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Hopper was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Shelley Coe Richie; two sisters, Ruby Earls and Doris Hullender; a brother, Louis Moss; two sons-in-law, Lanny Edwards and Harry Coe; and a nephew, Jerry Hullender.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 20, 2022, from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm at Buffalo Baptist Church. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 pm with Rev. Harold Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Ashley Edwards, Michael Moss, Caleb Edwards, Bryan Hullender, Dan Millwood, Stephen Millwood, Logan Richie will serve as pallbearers.

The family will be at their respective homes.
