Lucy Chapman Wease

Lucy Chapman Wease, 82, of Howser Drive, Casar, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at home.

Born in Cleveland County on October 4, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Charles Alexander Chapman and Zillie Hudson Chapman. She was retired from Watt's Grill in Polkville where she was famously known for her cat head biscuits. She is a former member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Casar and was a member of Hudson Memorial Baptist Church in Lawndale.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brothers, Durham Chapman and wife Hazel, Junior Chapman and wife Georgia Lee, Fred Chapman and wife Novella; Russell Chapman, and Buren Chapman and sister, Zettie Hunt and husband Roy.

She is survived by her husband of sixty years Earl Clouston Wease, Jr; daughters, Sunni Crawford and husband Cliff of Huntersville and Lori Wease of Casar; two sisters-in-law, Earlene Marlow of Gastonia and Kathy Curtis of Cherryville; grandchildren, Laura Crawford, Olivia Crawford, and Ryan Crawford and great granddaughter, Rayna Crawford.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2:00 pm to 3:00 PM in the Hudson Memorial Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at Hudson Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Scott Holland and Mrs. Frances Hudson officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
