Mrs. Lynda Elaine Stuart Soots, 74 of Shelby, passed away on October 26, 2017 at Carolinas HealthCare System in Shelby.
She is survived by her husband and best friend of 58 years, Carl Soots, three children, Andy Soots and wife Julie of Advance, NC, Danny Soots of Shelby, NC, and Tim Soots and wife Ashley of Irmo, SC, five grandchildren, Patricia McDowell and husband Mike of Concord, NC, Timothy Soots and wife Jesica of Layton, UT, Haley Bouknight Soots, Joshua Soots, and Gabriel Soots, all of Irmo, SC, eight great grandchildren, Keith, Matthew, Jeremy, Remington, Lexie, Cooper, Tynsley, and Sawyer.
Born June 27, 1943 in New Hanover County, NC, Mrs. Soots was the daughter of the late William and Hazel Clover Stuart.
Lynda was a member of the Double Springs Baptist Church community, taking part in the fellowship with women members. Until her prolonged illness, she enjoyed sharing in each others crochetting techniques, family recipes and their shared love of God. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and showing them how to knit, passing down recipes and cooking for her family, reading her Bible daily, traveling especially to the mountains, but most of all spending time with family, friends, and her best friend and beloved husband, Carl.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, October 30, 2017 at Double Springs Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Bill Fryar. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
