Mabel Watson Wall

Mabel Watson Wall, age 94, of Forest City, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2020.

Mabel was born June 12, 1926 in Rutherford County to the late George Miller Watson and Bethney Iowa Morgan Watson.

She was a longtime member of Haynes Memorial Baptist Church where she had the distinction of serving in the church nursery each Sunday for forty-five years. Mabel was a dedicated homemaker who loved to cook, bake cakes, pies, and candy. She enjoyed sharing her cooking and baking with her neighbors and shut-ins. Mabel was a kindhearted and generous Christian lady who loved her family and friends dearly. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of seventy years, Howard "Homer" Wall; brothers, George B. Watson, Osburn R. Watson, John Lee Watson, Thomas Earl Watson and Benjamin Douglas Watson; sisters, Lillie Blanton Lawing, Frances Watson Laughter, Odessa Watson Champion and daughter-in-law, Betty Wall.

Those left to cherish her memory includes a daughter, Debra Wall Womick (Terry) of Caroleen; two sons, Wayne Wall also of Caroleen and Ronnie Wall (Revonda) of Sunshine. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Terri Walker (Chad), Robin Wall, Charlie Wall, Tyler Dobbins, Staci Womick Roche (Mark), Chad Radford (Chrissy), Dana Radford; twelve great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 16, 2020 at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Hubert Street officiating. The body will lie in state from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm on Saturday at the funeral home.
