Cherryville - Mrs. Mable Tedder Baxter, 89, passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at her residence.

Mrs. Baxter was born on May 9, 1931 in Columbus County, NC, daughter of the late Oscar Tedder and Mattie Reynolds Tedder. She retired as a seamstress from Bike Athletic in Cherryville. Mrs. Baxter was a member of Bess Chapel United Methodist Church in Cherryville.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W. Baxter, Sr.; two daughters, Linda Baxter and Ann Baxter Stanley; a son-in-law Larry Stanley and a grandson, Thomas Baxter, III.

Survivors include a son, Thomas Baxter, Jr. (Karen); a daughter, Kathy Baxter all of Cherryville; a sister, Juanita Ballam of California; four grandchildren, Steven Baxter (Johnna), Melissa Avery (David), Larry Stanley, Jr., Malinda Smith (Allen) and twelve great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at 1:00PM at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Butch Ross officiating.

Burial will be at Bess Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
