Madge Marie McSwain Harris, age 91, died Saturday, August 18, 2018 the Hospice Wendover. Born in Cleveland County on November 12, 1926 she was the daughter of the late Audley Cluff McSwain and Eunice Goode McSwain. She was a member of Boiling Springs Baptist Church where she worked in the nursery caring for the children. Madge worked for Hudson Hosiery until their closing, later retiring from the Admissions Office of Crawley Memorial Hospital. In her retirement she enjoyed sewing, crocheting and cooking.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Harris, four brothers; Yates, Lindsey, Howard and Donald McSwain as well as three sisters; Vernie Teseneer, Annie Sarratt, and Carolyn Powell.

Madge is survived by her son Ron Harris and wife Lynn of Johnson City, TN, one brother Bob McSwain and one sister Betty Blanton.

Funeral service will be held 2 pm Wednesday, August 22, 2018 in the Chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Keith McKinney officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 pm until 2 pm. Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park.
