Madge Melton Lane

SHELBY- Madge Melton Lane, 84, died Friday, June 22, 2018, at Carolinas Continue Care in Kings Mountain. A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Columbus and Cellie Crowder Melton. She was a member of Christ the King Church, and worked many years, in many cities, taking care of children. The family would like to thank Barbara Moore, and her daughters, Melinda and Robin, and Frank Greene and Brenda Whisnant for all their love and care they extended.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Norman Lane; two brothers; and seven sisters.

SURVIVED: She is survived by her sons, Dr. Bill Lane and wife June of Mint Hill, Scott Lane and wife Shelly of Statesville, and Todd Lane and Connie Boyd of Greensboro; sisters, Ruth Hamrick of Arkansas, and Betty Yelton of Shelby; 9 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and step sister, Tat Morrow.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends 6-7:30pm, Monday, June 25, 2018, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.

FUNERAL SERVICES: Funeral services will be held 2pm, Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at Christ the King Church

OFFICIATING: Barbara Moore will officiate

BURIAL: Will follow at Adaville Baptist Church in Spindale
