| Mae Proctor Celebrates 90th Birthday |

A surprise 90th birthday party was held this past Saturday, December 10th, to honor Mae Martin Proctor, the beloved first lady of the Proctor family. The supper event was held in the fellowship hall at Bethel Baptist Church in Shelby, from 2 to 6 p.m. Mae was born December 17th, 1921 and raised seven children, with her much loved husband Jim, on a sharecropper farm in New House. She worked as a laborer in the fields and orchards, as well as other jobs to provide for her family. Here she is, surrounded with lots of love from her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Other family members and friends joined the momentous occasion for this very special lady.
