Mafra Silvers Edwards, age 93, of Ellenboro, passed away Friday, September 11, 2020 at Willow Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mafra was born August 1, 1927 in Yancey County to the late Dan Gaston Silvers and Minnie Lee Hensley Silvers. She worked for Stonecutter Mill and United Southern Industries for many years. Mafra was a "people person" and enjoyed flower gardening. She was a past member of Plainview Baptist Church and Harris First Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Molt Edwards; son, Cedrick Edwards; four sisters and five brothers.

Those left to cherish her memory include three sons, Ralph Edwards (Kathy), Bookter Edwards (Carolyn) and Steve Edwards all of Ellenboro; daughter, Julie Scruggs (Jodean) also of Ellenboro. She is also survived by five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

A private graveside service will be conducted at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.
