Manuel Lee "Fat Man" Eskridge, departed this life on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at Atrium Health Cleveland-Main in Charlotte, NC.

A native of Cleveland County, NC, he was born on February 10, 1954 to the late Robert June Eskridge and Lola Surratt Eskridge.

Manuel was a graduate of Shelby High School. He was formerly employed with PPG Industries and Doran Mills but his passion was working on cars. "Fat Man" was a loving and caring person who was a jack of all trades. He had the ability to fix anythingand used his gift as a handyman in many aspects to help many people.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Sweezy and brother-in-law, Jerry Gingles.

He leaves to cherish his memory to his children, Manuel McMullens, Shawn McMullens (Tiffney), Yachia Griffin and Tequita Griffin all of Shelby; siblings, Edward Eskridge, Alfred Eskridge, (Diane), Margaret Eskridge, Tilda Eskridge, Marcella Gingles, Elizabeth Webber (Ronald), Shelia Durham, Bonnie Martin (Eddie), Theresa Eskridge, Warren Eskridge (Cynthia), Yvonne Sweezy and Mary Sweezy Poston (Kenneth); additional brother and sister-in-law, Jerry Durham and Dianne Eskridge; fifteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; special friend, Beth and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
