Margaret Hastings

It is with joyful hearts that we celebrate the life of Margaret Hastings, a beloved mother, friend, and dedicated member of our community. Margaret, who spent her life in Casar, NC, passed away on March 30, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and a deep faith in God.

Margaret dedicated her life to her family and church, where she found joy in nurturing children, whom she lovingly cared for as if they were her own. Her warm spirit and infectious laughter will be missed, but her love will continue to shine in the hearts of all those she touched. God was always first in her life. She was a member of Second Baptist Church of Cherryville where she served Him faithfully.

Join us for a visitation and a memorial service in her honor on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at the Second Baptist Church of Cherryville, 201 N Houser St, Cherryville, NC, 28021. The visitation will start at 1:00 PM, followed by the memorial service, officiated by Dr. Matt Thomas, at 2:00 PM, where we will gather to share stories, laughter, and memories of our dear Margaret.

Margaret is survived by her cherished daughter, Brenda Lauer (Shawn); grandsons, Austin Lauer (Tabitha) and Dallas Lauer (Kennedy); great grandchildren, Parker Betts and Taylor Lauer; sisters, Helen Rayfield and Ola Harmon; sister in law, Reba Grigg. Let us honor Margaret's spirit by reflecting her love and kindness in our own lives.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Hastings; parents, Ambrose and Ila Grigg; brothers, Clarence Grigg (Sue), Clyde Grigg and Carris Grigg; sister, Earsie Wood (Don) and Ellen Grigg; brother in law, Larry Harmon.

We invite all who knew Margaret to come together and celebrate a life beautifully lived, a life where God was always first, and where family and community were everything.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Second Baptist Church of Cherryville, "Youth Fund".

Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service. Online condolences can be made at www.greenefuneral.com
