Margaret Katherine Bonebrake Harry

Margaret Katherine Bonebrake Harry, age 101, passed away Tuesday January 18, 2022 at her home in Shelby. Born in Kings Creek, SC on November 24, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Snively and Margaret Louise Faysoux Bonebrake. In addition to her parents, Katherine is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, William "Bill" Harry, her two sisters, Jean Hunt and Mildred Hambright, a daughter, Susan Katherine Meares and a grandson Romulus Meares III.

She was a longtime member of Shelby Presbyterian Church and more recently attended Aldersgate United Methodist Church, where she was active in the Bayliss Sunday School Class. Katherine furthered her education at Limestone College and studied piano at Julliard. She brought joy to herself and others by playing piano in numerous settings. She also was a member of the Junior Charity League and Charter Member of the Shelby Cotillion. Katherine enjoyed playing Duplicate bridge, crafting, cooking, and traveling the world. She also had a tender heart and cared dearly for her numerous pets.

Katherine is survived by her two daughters, Billie Ann Ratliff and Louise Harry Neal and her grandchildren; Jennifer Meares, Price Witucki (Richard), Margot Alexander (David), Carrie Kale, Sheryl Kelly (Brian Lewis), William McClure (Kara), and Wesley McClure (Marybeth). Also left to cherish her memory are her ten loving great grandchildren.

A private memorial service for family will be held at Grover Cemetery in North Carolina.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to Hospice Cleveland County: 951 Wendover Heights Drive Shelby, NC 28150.
