Margaret Marie Greenlee, age 95, of Forest City, passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.
Born on January 3, 1921 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter to the late Della Fite Green and G. F. Green. Marie was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and enjoyed reading and helping others.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Joe Lane Greenlee; two sons, J.C. Greenlee, Larry Greenlee; one daughter, Barbara Hall Greenlee; two sisters, Maggie Gault and Lula Mae Greene; six brothers, Gordon Green, Frank Greene, Fred Green, LeRoy Green, George Willie Green, and Wade Green.
Survivors include two sons, Joe Greenlee and wife Martha of Spartanburg, SC, Roy Greenlee and wife Carol of Goodes Creek, NC; and her favorite niece, Jean Frances Thorn. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service was conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Bob Philbeck officiating.
