Margaret Ramsey Brown, 92 of Cherryville, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at Carolina Care Health & Rehabilitation. She was born December 3, 1927 in Gaston County to the late Dock Boyd Ramsey Sr. and Lillie Strickland Ramsey. She was a lifelong resident of Cherryville. Margaret was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church Cherryville. She was a loving and devoted mother to her children. She will be missed by many friends and family.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clyde B. Brown; siblings, Zula Beam, Eva Abernathy, Louise Fowler, Jennie Ramsey, Evan Ramsey, Darris Ramsey, Bobby Ramsey, and D.B. Ramsey, Jr.

Survivors include her daughter, Pam Brown Johnson and husband, Bruce of Vale; sons, Greg Brown of Cherryville, and Danny Brown and wife, Martha of Cherryville, and Steve Brown and wife, Pat of Rocky Mount; grandchildren, Amanda Johnson Coggins and husband, Kevin, Jason Brown and wife, Amy, Scott Tharrington and wife, Tracy, Candace Tharrington, Justin Brown, and Lesley Hoffman; and great grandchildren, Zachary Brown and wife, Priscilla, Dakota Brown, Braiden Brown, Addyson Brown, Ryan Tharrington, Noah Coggins, and Olivia Coggins.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday February 2, 2020 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Vince Hefner officiating. Burial will follow at City Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:45 prior to her service at the church.
