Margie Mullinax Hamrick

With heavy hearts but joyful memories, we celebrate the life of Margie Mullinax Hamrick, born on July 7, 1944, in Cherokee County, South Carolina, went to her heavenly home on May 1, 2025. Margie, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, and friend, called Shelby, NC, her home, where she poured her love into her garden, her family, and everything she did.



Margie's green thumb was legendary among family and friends; her garden was a testament to her care and dedication. She had a remarkable talent for nurturing both plants and family alike. Those who knew her will always remember her delicious home-cooked meals that brought everyone together around the table, where laughter and stories flowed as freely as the food.



An adventurer at heart, Margie often spent her days outdoors, relishing the beauty of nature and sharing her enthusiasm with others. Whether it was fishing on a sunny afternoon--often outdoing her son--or simply enjoying the fresh air while tending to her flowers, she found true joy in the simplicity of life.



Margie had a special place in her heart for her grandbabies, showering them with love and attention that created cherished memories that will live on through generations. Bingo nights were another favorite pastime, filled with laughter and friendly competition that brought family and friends together in good spirits.



Margie is survived by her children, Joe Dean Hamrick (Angie), Sheron Parker (James), and Ann Griffin (Rev. Buster); grandchildren, Tiffany Bowen (Shane), Christina Davis (Tyrone), Jennifer Ward (Gary), Kristie Emery (Andrew), Travis Griffin, Jamie Greene (Jonathon), Brandon Griffin, Kirsten Izzi (Dylan), Kristen Crouse (Daniel), and Paris Carr; great grandchildren, Abreanne Bowen, Kayleia Guest (Fredrick), Jimmy Davis (Christa), Ashton Ward (Rachael), Riley Parker, Josh Ward, Madison Emery, McKinley Ward, Aaliyah Davis, Haven Griffin, Ensley Greene, Nataley Greene, Kasen Emery, Brinley Emery, Kyler Izzi, and Henry Crouse; 8 great great grandchildren; brother, Bobby Mulinax; sisters, Shirley Emery, Mable Pruitt, Faye Pruitt, and Geraldine Dover.



Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Dean Hamrick; parents, Floyd and Viola Mullinax; grandchildren, Buster Griffin Jr, Kristy Griffin, Jamie Griffin; great grandchild, Michael Bowen; brothers, Charles Mullinax and Carlton Mullinax.



Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance of Margie's beautiful life. A visitation will be held at the First Love Baptist Church, 2636 S Lafayette St, Shelby, NC, 28152, on May 4, 2025, starting at 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service celebrating her life at 3:00 PM. Margie's final resting place will be at Faith Baptist Church Cemetery.
