Marianne Virginia Baker, 92, of Shelby, NC, passed away on January 28, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Kenosha County, WI, daughter of the late Alex and Victoria Pawinski Kleist and was preceded in death by her husband, Willard "Bill" Baker Jr. Marianne was also preceded in death by a daughter, Victoria Carpenter, a granddaughter, Miranda Carpenter, and her brothers, Gene and Raymond Kleist.

Marianne was a member of First Assembly of God in Shelby, NC. She was a wonderful and loving mother who placed her family at the center of her life. Marianne was kind to everyone she met and her loving spirit was witnessed by everyone who knew her. Her guidance and love was cherished by her family and friends and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved Marianne.

Daughters: Pam Baker, Kings Mountain, NC and Bonnie Lawrenz and husband David, Mount Holly, NC

Grandchildren: Charlie Rhodes III (Sasha) and Kennan Baker (Haley)

Great Grandchildren: Melani Baker and Hanako Rhodes

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: Thursday, February 2, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Burke Memorial Park in Morganton, NC

VISITATION: Wednesday, February 1, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Harris Funeral Home

INTERMENT: Burke Memorial Park at 2506 Burke Memorial Park Road, Morganton, NC 28655
