Marie Mellon Johnson, 59, of Lawndale, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2023 at Atrium Health - Cleveland, Shelby.

Born in Lincoln County on December 18, 1963, she was a daughter of the late Ivey T.C. Millon and Pauline Swink Millon. She was formerly employed with Community Cleaners as assistant manager.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry Mellon and Harold Mellon.

Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Ricky Gene Johnson; two daughters, Brandy Hudson and Bobby Cook and Pamela Towery and husband Patrick; son, Brantley Mitchem; two brothers, Thomas Mellon of Cherryville and Ricky Mellon of Casar; two sisters, Helen Burgess of Connelly Springs and Carolyn McGinnis of Lincolnton and five grandchildren, Blakeley Hudson and wife Kristen, Braxton Mitchem, Brayden Johnson, Alex Towery and wife Summer, and Marissa Towery; a great-grandchild, Leagan Hudson; and special friends Deana and Doggie Flores.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 3, 2023, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home, Fallston.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023, 1:00 pm at Olive Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Terrill Crump and Rev. James Wedgeworth officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
