Marie Towery Royster, 94 of Royster Road, Shelby passed away, Wednesday,
September 20, 2017 at Hospice at Wendover.

Born December 21, 1922 in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late
Lark Leonard Towery and Eva Louella Brackett Towery. Mrs. Royster worked
for Blanton Variety Store and Stamey Store, Inc. before retiring from the
cafeteria at Burns High School. Marie considered herself blessed to have
had two wonderful church families, Fallston Baptist Church and Double Shoals
Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, of
sixty-one years, Robert Donald Royster; two brothers, Forney Lane Towery and
D.W. Towery and two sisters, Anther Hoyle and Daphine Hamrick.

She is survived by a son, Robert Royster and wife, Tracy of Fallston; a
daughter, Christine Benfield and husband, Jim of Yadkinville; two brothers,
Tate Towery of Shelby and Bob Towery of Marietta, GA and three
grandchildren, Meredith Royster, Andrew Benfield and wife Shawna and Brett
Benfield.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Shelby Manor for the
love and care they gave to Marie through her declining health.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 23, 2017, from
12:30PM to 1:45PM in the Double Shoals Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2:00 PM at Double Shoals
Baptist Church with Dr. Brian Johnson officiating

The burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Fallston.
