Marilyn Dixon Hamrick, of Kings Mountain, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2025 at Wendover Hospice House (Via Partners) in Shelby, North Carolina. Marilyn was born in Cleveland County, NC, on October 28, 1944, to the late Kelly Dixon and Blanche Patterson Dixon, and was preceded in death by her husband, George G. Hamrick; siblings, Delbert Dixon, Lindbergh Dixon, Peggy Dixon Tinsley, Herbert Dale Dixon, JoAnn Dixon Lundquist, Jake Dixon, Lane Dixon, and stepson, Tim Hamrick.

Marilyn was a member of Central Methodist Church of Kings Mountain, and served on many church committees and sang in the Chancel Choir. Marilyn also worked as a secretary to the detectives in the Cleveland County Sherriff's for more than ten years.

Survivors include her sister, Becky Dixon Patterson, of Kings Mountain; step children, George T. Hamrick (Stephanie), of Gastonia, and Cheryl H. Farfour (Les), of Shelby; step daughter-in-law, Anja L. Hamrick, of Boiling Springs; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; a very special niece, Leah Parker and her family as well as a number of nieces and nephews and their families.

A private family interment service will be held at a later date at the columbarium at Central Methodist Church in Kings Mountain.
