Marjorie Frances Dedmon Morgan

Marjorie Frances Dedmon Morgan, age 90, died Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Stanly Regional Medical Center. Born on April 2, 1925 she was the daughter of the late William Wray and Ezma Ethel Roberts Dedmon. She retired in 1987 as the Administrative Assistant to Dr. James Petty, President of Cleveland Community College. She was a lifelong member of 70 years of Central United Methodist Church where she was a member of the choir, the United Methodist Women, the Altar Guild, the Joyful Noisemakers, and the Hoey Bible Class. She was a Communion Steward for 30 years. Frances was very talented in the arts, she could draw, arrange flowers and was very craft orientated. In addition to her parents, Frances is preceded in death by her husband Paul C. Morgan and a brother, Ned Dedmon.

Frances is survived by a son, Jerry Morgan and wife Sharon of Oriental; a daughter, Celeste Morgan and husband Gary Martin of Stanfield; a brother Ken Dedmon and wife Naomi of Fallston; a sister Carolyn Dedmon Hambright of Grover; a sister-in-law, Deloris Dedmon of Blacksburg SC; three grandsons, Addison Morgan and wife Sharon, Paul Morgan Jr., and Connor Martin; two great grandchildren, Kylie and Jackson Morgan; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday May 8, 2015 at 2:00pm in the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory with Dr. Joe Collins officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm.
