Marjorie Lou Hamrick Skinner

Marjorie Lou Hamrick Skinner, age 82 died Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Willow Ridge Rehabilitation and Living Center in Rutherfordton. Born in Cleveland County on February 27, 1936 she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Stella Mae Smith Hamrick. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. Marjorie was a waitress at Boiling Springs Snack shop for a number of years. She enjoyed gardening and working in flowers. Marjorie loved animals. She would feed homeless animals and they grew to love her. Marjorie was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and had a nurturing heart for her family and animals. In addition to her parents, Marjorie is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Walter Reid Skinner, a son, Larry Dean Skinner; and a granddaughter, Donna Christine Skinner.

Marjorie is survived by a son, Reid Skinner and wife Teresa of Shelby; a daughter, Sandy Piercey and husband Randy of Shelby; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Skinner of Shelby; 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and 3 step grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 2:00 at Boiling Springs United Methodist Church with Rev. Teresa Blanton officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall and other times at the home of Sandy and Randy Piercey. A private burial will be held at Cleveland Memorial Park.
