Marjorie Putnam Morgan, age 85, of Hickory, NC, formerly of Aiken, SC, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at her home. A native of Cleveland County, NC Marjorie was born on January 16, 1937. She was the daughter of the late Ruth and Hythe Putnam. Marjorie enjoyed playing piano for churches, services and weddings. She wrote music and published children's books under the name Marjorie Star. Marjorie was a church organist, choir teacher and Sunday school teacher and was a Music Ministry volunteer in nursing homes.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her devoted husband AY Morgan and stepson Steven Morgan. She is survived by her beloved daughters, Charlene Brough of NC and Sharon Roberts of SC, and their husbands Tom Brough and Pat Roberts. She was a loving Grandma to Brandon Greenberg, Lauren Hampton, Elise Brokaw and her husband Brantley Brokaw. Dear Great Grandma of Paxton and Eisley Brokaw. Survived by brother Billy Putnam, sister Peggy Houser and brother Steve Putnam; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday February 19, 2022 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Eggers Funeral Home, 4076 US-221A Hwy#221-A, Cliffside, NC 28024. The funeral service will follow in the A.C. McKinney Memorial Chapel at Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside, NC. with Brother Bobby Bolin officiating. The burial will follow the service in the Cleveland Memorial Park, 1225 College Avenue, Shelby NC 28152. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, at www.arthritis.org.
