Mark Bennet Peters

Mark Bennet Peters of Shelby, NC went to his heavenly home on July 20, 2022.

Mark was a loving husband, son, father, son-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. Loved by his wife Angie Peters and united in marriage for 28 years, he was a blessed man. Angie provided undying love, support and role as caregiver for Mark over the past 9 years.

Mark leaves behind his mother Yvonne Vale (Steve), his two brothers, Al Atkinson and Chris Peters (Jennifer), two sons, Bradley Peters (Erin) and Dustyn Peters (Makayla) and four beloved grandchildren - Lakelyn, Avery, Chandler and Isaac among many other loved ones.

Mark received his B.A. from Appalachian State University. He used those business smarts to serve the Coca Cola Bottling Company as a Director for many years. Mark loved the UNC Tarheels and oftentimes sported his Carolina Blue pride in the clothes he wore. Mark lived a full live enjoying traveling with his family, watching Nascar and playing golf. Mark was a no-nonsense, witty guy with a fun-loving and oftentimes sarcastic sense of humor. Those that were able to spend to time with him were usually laughing or enjoying the fun banter that came with conversations with Mark. Mark loved the Christmas season and adored his Lennox ornaments. He glowed at the thought of the over-the-top Christmas decorating that was certain to be a part of his holiday season, even recently joking with Angie if she would be starting the elaborate Christmas decorating early. He will be missed by many but will remain in our hearts until we meet him again.
