 Tater Family Traveling Circus
The season starts with a bang on June 2 with The Ocean Blvd Band and their traditional beach music and hometown personalities. June 16, the Tater Family Travelling Circus hits the court square with their blend of rock and roll and the voice of their lead singer Luke Edwards. July 7, The Folsom Prison Gang comes to Uptown Shelby for the first time. Their Johnny Cash tribute band is great entertainment and a lot of fun. Summerdaze Band is back this year on July 21 with their great variety, saxophone and dancing in the street. August 4th EverGreen is playing a blend of rock and roll with the smooth and soulful vocals of Scott Moss. This year our season closes with an all time favorite beach band The Fantastic Shakers on August 18th. Bring your shagging shoes and be prepared for a night of dancing and singing.
Our Alive After Five season would not be possible without our generous local community sponsors Fox Distributing, Shelby Shopper and Info, Star Stage and Sound, The City of Shelby, Shalby Savings Bank, The Star, Keeter Ford, Settle Heating and Air, Griffin Brothers Tire, First National Bank, Wesson Septic Tank Service and 88.3 The Range. New this year we will have nightly series of Cornhole tournaments, qualifying with a championship on the final night of the season, August 18 sponsored by Settle Heating and Air. Our expanded KidZone on the court square with have great nightly activities brought to you by Shelby Savings Bank. Remember—Thinking Thursdays? Think Uptown, the Summer Cinema at the Don Gibson Theatre is going on alternating Thursdays starting June 9th. Check out website or Facebook for all of our event information.
