Martha Barbara Wright Davidson, 87, passed away Monday, October 24, 2022 at Peak Resources in Cherryville, NC.
Born in Cleveland County on July 6, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Mary Rosalee Click Wright and Theodore Roosevelt "T.R." Wright. In addition to her parents, Martha is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, William "Harley" Davidson, son Teddy Davidson and an infant brother, Bobby Lee Wright. Martha was a graduate of Shelby High School and a devoted member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. For many years she was employed with Foote Mineral Company of Kings Mountain and retired with Temp-Vent Corporation of Shelby. She will be remembered for her love for cooking, hosting and gathering with her extended family and spending time with her beloved granddaughters, who were her greatest joy.
Martha is survived by her two children, Hayley Lowery and husband Jason of Shelby, son Bobby Davidson of Hendersonville, brothers Jerry Wright and wife Juanita of Shelby, Zeno Wright and wife Donna of Cary, seven loving grandchildren; Grayson Lowery, Carson Lowery, Emerson Lowery, Tyler Davidson, Corey Davidson, Martha Davidson and Hayley Davidson, as well as, five great grandchildren. Also left to cherish Martha's memory is her brother-in-law, Carroll Davidson and his wife Sharolyn, sister-in-law Karen Davidson and many numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Friday October 28, 2022 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Cal Robertson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Church sanctuary. Burial will follow the service at Cleveland Memorial Park.
The family wishes to express their gratitude and appreciation for the compassion and care provided to Martha by her in-home caregiver, Rhonda Wilson, as well as, the staff of Peak Resources Cherryville and Hospice Cleveland County.
