Martha Curry Thrift, 81, passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Hospice Wendover in Shelby, NC.

She was born on May 12, 1944, the daughter of the late James Monroe Curry and Loretta Inez Shepard Curry.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, JT Thrift; her son, Gary Dean Thrift; her brother, James Curry; and her sister, Francis Curry Wall.

Martha loved her church and enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Randall W. Evans; her children, Curtis Thrift (Cindy), Lori Thrift Houser (Bryan), and Michael Thrift (Cheryl); her grandchildren, Preston Thrift (Krissa), Wesley Moore, Taylor Thrift, Dylan Thrift (Hunter), Lorrin Brothers (Joshua), Bryce Mullis (Michelle), Jonas Bell (Kim), and Jordan Sawyer (Bailey); and her great-grandchildren, Landon Moore, Mia Moore, Aava Mullis, Vada Brothers, Preston Lankford, Ren Kouyer, and Alayna Sawyer.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Christopher Road Baptist Church in Shelby, NC, with Pastor Mike Tucker officiating. The family will receive friends in the church sanctuary one hour prior to the service, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to Christopher Road Baptist Church.
