Martha Raye Crocker Porter

Martha Raye Crocker Porter, age 84, died Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at Hospice Wendover. Born in Cleveland County on November 9, 1937, she was the daughter of the late James B. Crocker and Myrtle Harris Crocker. Martha was a life-long member of Buffalo Baptist Church, where she served as a children's Sunday School teacher and was a member of the choir for many, many years. She retired from Fasco Industries. Martha enjoyed spending time with family and rocking on her porch with her friend Carrie and her special little dog, Angel. In addition to her parents, Martha is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Porter, her daughter Patsy Norman and her daughter Kathy Gamble. She was also preceded in death by 7 brothers; Bill, JB, Tommy, Carl, David, Bobby, and Buddy, as well as her sister, Mary.

To memorialize her life, Martha leaves behind her daughters, Judy Allen (Kevin), Brinda Haynes (Johnny), Linda Murray (Larry) and son-in-law, Bill Gamble; her grandchildren, Jeremy Snyder (Stephanie), Justin Gamble, Natalie Gamble, Austin Allen (Stephanie), Cody Allen, Meredith Mims (Jackson), Shawntay Mayes, and Jazlyn Haynes and her great grandchildren, Kennedy Snyder, Porter Snyder, Malachi Gamble, McKenna Gamble, Georgia Mims, Marshall Gold, Julian Mayes, and Khloe McCauley.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM Sunday July 3, 2022 at Buffalo Baptist Church with the Rev. Dustin Mace officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery following the service. The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 2:00PM - 3:00PM
