Martha Sue Chaney Rhea

Martha Sue Chaney Rhea, of Kings Mountain, North Carolina entered heaven's gates to be with God on August 12th, 2017 at 9:32 p.m. at Carolinas Medical Center Charlotte, North Carolina. Martha was born on January 8th, 1929 to the late Rev. Robert L. Chaney and WInnie Moss Chaney. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Joe D. Rhea, Sr. and brothers, Robert Chaney, Johnny Chaney, Grady Chaney, and sisters Peggy Chaney, Edith Milwood, Loretta Chaney, Dorothy Phillips, and Lucille Gladden. Martha's life purpose was centered around serving God through prayer, through song, and most importantly through her influence as a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. Her dedication to God's word through service, teaching, and song assure, all who knew her, that she entered a healing place. Her heart was tender, giving, firm and abundantly full of unconditional love for all people and animals. A mother's heart is one that loves unconditionally, worries about the needs of others, and creates a sense of safety and confidence that can only be attained by her. A mother's heart never really grows old or tired, but continues to show love in her eyes, with her hugs and kisses, and most importantly through her actions. God made Martha Sue Chaney Rhea with a perfect mother's heart, shining smile, peaceful eyes, and gave her to the world for a brief earthly moment for all to love.
