Martha Sue Earwood Clary, 92, of Royster Rd., Shelby, passed away Monday
January 22, 2018 at Carolinas HealthCare System-Cleveland.

Born June 6, 1925 in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Marsh
Shufford Earwood and Eliza Jane McNeilly Earwood. She was retired from Dora
Yarn Mill and was a lifelong member of Double Shoals United Methodist
Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul
Earl Clary; parents who raised her, John and Mae Wortman; one brother,
Julius Earwood; three sisters, Jessie Lankford, Lee McMurry and Betty
Wortman Bridges.

Survivors include one son, Roger Clary and wife Jan of Butner, NC; two
daughters, Rebecca McDaniel of Shelby and Stacy Beaver and husband Eric of
Hollis; brothers, Robert Earwood of Shelby, Charlie Earwood of Morganton,
Manuel Wortman of Chapel Hill and John Wortman of Shelby; sisters, Linda
Bailey of Casar, Pat Cody of Shelby and Dorothy Wortman Austin of Virginia;
two grandchildren, Brent Lundy and wife Tanya and Amaysa Beaver, two great
grandchildren, Brenna Lundy and Zoee Philbeck; special nieces, Wanda Queen
and Nila Eleazer.

The visitation will be Thursday from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Stamey-Tysinger
Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be Friday at 11:00AM Friday at Double Shoals United
Methodist Church with Rev. Randi Godfrey and Dr. Manuel Wortman. The body
will be placed in the church thirty minutes prior to the service.

Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
