Marvin Junior Cobb, 85, died Monday April 15,2024 at Atrium Health Pineville.

He was the son of the late Hunter and Bessie Cobb. Marvin enjoyed many things in life such as his church and church family, fishing, hunting but he was best known for his love of taking a drive. His love of driving would usually lead him on a day trip to the two places he loved most, the mountains or the beach. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Patricia "Pat" Cobb; and sister, Hazel Houser. Marvin is survived by his son, David Cobb and wife Sandra of Bessemer City; sisters, Margie Putnum of Cherryville, Hilda Britt of Gastonia, and Christine Lail of Crose; brothers, Clarence Cobb and wife Alice of Catawba and Jimmy Cobb of Cherryville; grandchildren, Jeff Bradshaw (Wendy), Josh Cobb (Amy), Ashley Johnson (Steven), and Justin Cobb (Kaitlyn); three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM Thursday April 18, 2024 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home in Kings Mountain with Dorothy Fail officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial to follow in Bessemer City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Atrium Health Levine Cancer Institute and St. Jude's.
