Mary Ann Amelia Gold Greene

Mary Ann Amelia Gold Greene, 89, of Cleveland County, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2026, at White Oak Manor of Kings Mountain.

Born on March 9, 1937, in Cleveland County, Mary Ann was the daughter of the late Marvin Monroe Gold and Laura Brooks Gold. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, William Albert Greene; her sister, Ruby Bates; and her brother, James Gold.

Mary Ann was a longtime faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church. She found joy in caring for her family and was known for her many talents and hobbies, including cooking, sewing, gardening, and preserving vegetables through canning and freezing. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she cherished and delighted in spoiling. Mary Ann was truly the heart of her family--the one who brought everyone together for holidays, celebrations, and special occasions. Her love, warmth, and dedication created lasting memories that will be treasured for generations.

She is survived by her children, Kay Hoyle, Michael Greene, Cynthia Roberts and husband Ben, and Carol Cothran.

In addition to her children, Mary Ann leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, along with many other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 22, 2026, at Cleveland Memorial Park, 1225 College Avenue, Shelby, North Carolina 28152. Family and friends are welcome to attend and celebrate Mary Ann's life and legacy.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church in honor of Mary Ann's life.

Mary Ann's legacy of faith, love, family devotion, and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
