Mary Donnis Greene Baynard, 76, passed away Friday, April 21, 2023 at Hospice Wendover in Shelby, NC. Born in Greenville, SC on February 15, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Columbus Austin Greene and Elizabeth White Greene. In addition to her parents, Donnis is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Jimmy Lee Baynard, as well as her sister Nancy Greene Hoyle. Donnis was a longtime member of Zion Baptist Church in Shelby and a faithful member of the Libby Senter Sunday School Class.

Donnis is survived by her two children, Andrew Baynard, wife Jane and daughter Kimberly Aderholdt, husband Larry, as well as six loving grandchildren; Andrew, Sophie, Tia, Morgan, Ava and Renee. Also left to cherish her memory is her sister, Sandra Greene McBrayer, husband Don.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday April 29, 2023 in the cemetery of Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Matt Storie offering words of encouragement for those in attendance. The family will receive friends following the graveside service in the church cemetery.
