Gaffney -- Mary Edith McKinney Pennington, 80, of 187 White's Road, passed away Friday, July 13th, 2018, at Mary Black Health System - Gaffney.

Born in Rhodell, West Virginia, she was the widow of Alfred "Bill" Pennington and the daughter of the late Coy McKinney and Bessie Cecil McKinney. Mrs. Pennington worked as a waitress and previously attended Victory Trail Pentecostal Church.

Mrs. Pennington is survived by one son, William Allen Pennington; three daughters, Sonya Petty, Monzella Hannon (Randy), and Christina Pruett; one brother, Herbert McKinney; two sisters, Sadie Akers and Debbie Meador; nine grandchildren, Shonda Pennington, Scarlett Blanton, Michael Petty, David Pennington, Tiffany Seals, Joy Stroupe, Randon Hannon, Clarissa Pruett, and Krystal Spencer; and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Valerie Hale, her brother, Coy McKinney, Jr., and her grandson, Matthew Pennington.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 17th, 2018, from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary of Gaffney, 211 E. Frederick St., Gaffney, SC 29340. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3:00 pm with Rev. Leroy Hannon officiating. Interment will follow at Frederick Memorial Gardens. Randy Hannon, Bobby Goode, Darrell Stroupe, Ricky Nuzum, Billy Pennington, and Daniel Gibson will serve as pallbearers.

The family will be at the residence of Monzella Hannon, 122 Stroupe Estate Road, Gaffney, SC.
