Mrs. Mary Ella Brooks McClain age 72 of Glen Haven Drive, died Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Carolinas Medical Center in Concord. Born in Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Cletus and Louise Bridges Brooks. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed watching football and racing. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a brother, John David Brooks.

Mrs. McClain is survived by her husband of 47 years, Robert “Bob” McClain Jr.; four children, Calvin Humphries and wife Marlene of Concord, LuJuan Dover of Boiling Springs, Myron Dover of Newton, and Benny McClain of Faith; a sister, Sharon Cantrell and husband Jack of Shelby; a brother, Donald Brooks of Hickory; sister-in-law, Sylvia Langston of Greensboro; 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; special friends, Melony Lewis, Marty Murray Jr. and Mary Smith McClain; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 1:00pm until 2:00pm. A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, February 22, 2013 at 2:00pm in the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory.  The Rev. Rob Crawford will be officiating. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park.

Memorials can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
