Mary Ellen Ledford Ward, 92, of Lawndale, passed away Saturday, October 20,
2018 at Atrium Health - Cleveland in Shelby.

Born in Cleveland County on September 3, 1926, she was a daughter of the
late Clemmie Vertis Ledford and Donnie Telithe Bowman Ledford. She was
retired from the textile industry and was a member of Ledford Grove Baptist
Church.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Jesse
Henry Ward, Jr; sister, Geneva Wright; and two grandchildren.

She is survived by four sons, Wayne Ward of Shelby, Pat Ward and wife Patti
of Kings Mountain, Scott Ward of Shelby and Dennis Ward of Lawndale;
daughter, Gail Jones and husband Harold of Lawndale; six grandchildren and
numerous loving great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at
Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home, Fallston.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 PM in the
Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Coye Sanders, Jackie Price
and Tim Wilson officiating.

The burial will follow in the Palm Tree United Methodist Church Cemetery,
Lawndale.
