Mary Falls Boyles

SHELBY: Mary Falls Boyles, 90, died Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Brookdale Hospice in Greenville, SC. A native of Cleveland Co., she was born to the late Odus and Vernie Spangler Falls. She retired from Hudson's Department Store in Shelby. She was a member of First Baptist Church for over 50 years, where she served in many capacities including leader of the Woman's Missionary Union and WMU night Director, sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, and served as deacon. She was also the GA Director for the Greater Cleveland County Baptist Association. She was a devoted wife, Mother and Grandmother. She loved going to the farm on all holidays with her family and the friends of the grandchildren. Her hobbies were working in her yard, any kind of needle hand work and sewing for herself, her daughter and granddaughters, and spending lots of time at the farm with her husband during his lifetime.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, DeMar Herrand Boyles and sister Bettye McGraw.

SURVIVED: She is survived by her sons, DeMar "Buddy" Boyles, Jr. and wife Meg of Greensboro and Scott Boyles and wife Wendy of Raleigh; daughter Rickie Bullard and husband Dave of Simpsonville, SC; sister, Barbara Canipe of Longs, SC; grandchildren, Brad Clowney and wife Betty, Tatum Hodge and husband Bo, Daniel Boyles and wife Allie, Carson Boyles, Hayden Boyles, Benjamin Boyles and Joanna Boyles; great grandchildren, Isabella, Alexia, Grayson, Harper, and one boy on the way; nieces, Mitzi Johnson, Melanie Wray, Cindy Frick, and Tina Orr, nephews; Butch Canipe andTodd Canipe; and numerous cousins.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church

FUNERAL SERVICES: will be held Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Shelby.

OFFICIATING: Rev. Tony Tench, officiating

BURIAL: Internment will be at Sunset Cemetery immediately following the service

MEMORIALS: may be made to First Baptist Church, 120 N Lafayette St, Shelby, NC 28150
