Mary Hamrick Justice Smith, 94, passed away February 13, 2022. A native of Rutherford Co., she was born to the late James and Susan Whitesides Hamrick. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husbands Ralph Justice and Morris Smith, son-in-law Frank Gardner and grandson Paul Justice and great granddaughter Sophia Brooks.

Mary is survived by sons Clyde Justice and Ralph Justice Jr. and wife Beverley, daughter Becky Gardner, grandchildren Andy Gardner and wife Heather, Emily Van Buren and husband David, Betsy Huhn, Beth McCurry and husband Gene, Kimberly Brooks and husband Phillip and 18 great grandchildren.

Affectionately known as "Granny Smith" she was a fantastic cook and gardening with her flowers. She was a faithful member of Manna Baptist Church. She loved to visit the outer banks and coastal fishing, she was a faithful servant and willingly gave to others. She will be missed by all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 16, 2022 in The Chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home & Crematory Pastors Andy Stevens and Barry McGowin, officiating.
