Mary Hartsell of Shelby, 91, passed away Saturday evening, October 8, 2022. Mary was born November 2, 1930 to the late Arthur and Augusta Smith. She is also preceded in death by brothers, Lubert Smith, Jesse Smith, and Cecil Smith; and sisters, Pearlie Smith Rambeau and Ruby Smith Jackson. Mary is also preceded by step son, Eric Hartsell.

Mary is survived by her husband of 44 loving years, Joe Albert Hartsell. Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Steve Crawley, David Crawley and his wife Carolyn, a daughter, Jackie Crawley and a step daughter, Joyce Hensley and husband Billy. Mary also leaves behind grandson, Michael Bost and his wife Annette, grand daughters, Jessica Towery and her husband, John, Amy Cline and her husband, John, Tara Canipe, Mary Bost and her significant, Brandon London. Mary is also survived by a step grand daughter, Erica Funk and her husband, John. Lastly, Mary leaves behind five precious great-grand sons and three great-grand daughters.

To honor the life of Mrs. Mary Hartsell a funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home & Crematory, Thursday, October 13, 2022 at 2 o'clock in the afternoon, officiated by Pastor, Neal Efird. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Sunset Cemetery in Shelby.
