Mary Lee Reid Flack
 Mrs. Mary Lee Reid Flack, 83, of Shelby, NC, departed this life on Saturday, June 9, at White Oak Manor in Kings Mountain, NC.  She was born on August 24, 1928 in Cleveland County to the late Edward and Nettie Mae Borders Reid.

 

Mrs. Flack was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Kingstown where she sang on the choir and was employed with P.P.G. until her health declined.   She enjoyed cooking and was known as the community cook in Kingstown.  Everyone looked forward to coming over to her house for Sunday meals.  Mrs. Flack also enjoyed playing and being with her grandchildren.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Thomas Flack; three children, John Lee “Simp” Flack, Ray Thomas Flack, Jr. and Kathy Brown; a sister, Florence McCleave and two great-grandchildren, Lynette Flack, Jamarrion Brown and Pearlie Smith.

 

Left to cherish her memory are six sons, James Flack (Helen) and Charles Flack (Charliela) both of Kingstown; Calvin Flack (Deborah), Leonard Flack (Jamette) and Alvin Flack (Martha) all of Shelby and Robert Flack of Kings Mountain, NC; two daughters, Cora Miller (Gene) and Ernestine McCluney (John) both of Shelby;  two additional daughters-in-law, Sarah Flack of Kingstown and Debbie Reid of Tallahassee, FL; a sister, Corrine Tate  Pritchett of Philadelphia, PA; twenty-eight grandchildren; forty-eight great-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three best friends, Lillie Spikes and Elnora Hunt both of Kingstown and Esther Whitworth of Shelby and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at 1:30 PM at Palmer Grove Baptist Church with Rev. James L. Smith officiating.  Burial will take place at the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:30 PM at the church on Wednesday and at other times at the home of her daughter, Ernestine McCluney, 1219 White Ave., Shelby.  Condolences can be expressed at www.enloes.net.  Enloe Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
