Mary Lou Lattimore Frye

Mary Lou Lattimore Frye, of Fallston, NC, went to her eternal home on Sunday, March 20, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born at home in Fallston, NC on June 12, 1931. She was the daughter of the late Sarah Elizabeth and Warren Lattimore.

A loving mother and homemaker, Mary was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. She was famous for her scrumptious subs and hot "taters". She worked at Southern Bell in Charlotte and Hudson Hosiery prior to her marriage and later returned to work as a reading tutor and bus driver at Fallston Elementary.

She loves the Lord which was evident in her daily walk with Him. She was an active member at New Bethel Baptist Church in Lawndale, NC. She was a member of the choir, served as a Sunday School teacher, and also served yearly in Vacation Bible School as well as supporting any mission projects at the church and through the Women's Missionary Union. Everyone at church knew that she was a great prayer warrior. Mary was also very involved in Hands On Missions and Laura's Homes of North Carolina and always helped to prepare the monthly newsletter. She was also a volunteer for Hospice of Cleveland County.

Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, Richard McRee Frye. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Sharon, her sister Martha Greene, her brothers Sam Lattimore, W.D. Lattimore, Reverend Frank Lattimore, brother-in-law Charles Wright, sisters-in-law Alene Lattimore and Sadie Lattimore, granddaughter Katheryn Sienna and grandson Michael Isaiah.

Mary is survived by her sons Danny Frye (Ann) of Rembert, SC, Ken Frye (Mary) of Fallston, NC and Greg Frye (Mary) of Fallston, NC. She is also survived by one brother, Reverend Bob Lattimore (Germanton, NC), and one sister Betty Wright (Shelby, NC). She is also survived by ten grandchildren, Chris Frye (Jessica) of Camden, SC, Maxcy Frye (Lori) of Rembert, SC, Kimberly Ard (Kevin) of Camden, SC, Vess Frye and special friend Maura Beyer of Athens, GA, Madeline Philbeck (Joshua) of Boiling Springs, NC, Molly Frye and special friend Joel Brown of Brooklyn, NY, Samantha Stout (Jennings) Wendell, NC, Sara Frye (Fallston, NC), Hannah Frye (Fallston, NC), Elijah Frye (Fallston, NC), twelve great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at New Bethel Baptist Church in Lawndale, NC.

Graveside services will follow the service at the church cemetery.
