Casar - Mrs. Mary Lou Parker Walker, 78, of 311 Jesse Mountain Road passed
away Friday, December 21, 2012 at Catawba Valley Medical Center.
Born in Burke County, she was a daughter of the late John Parker and Minnie
Suzanne Spake Parker. Mrs. Walker was a member of Olive Grove Baptist
Church and retired from Century Furniture in Hickory.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Terry
Laxton; brother, Winman Parker; and sisters, Mozelle Wallace and Adene
Stephens.
Mrs. Walker is survived by her husband of sixty years, William "Gene"
Walker; son, Charles Walker of Casar; daughters, Joette Walker Parker and
husband Delbert and Jackie W. Laxton all of Casar; brother, Leonard Parker
and wife Bryte; grandchildren, Alex, Seth, and Amber Trumble and Regina
Willis and Katrina Greene; and great grandchildren, Trevor, Pheobe, Dallas,
Page and Judge.
The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:30 pm on Monday at Stamey
Funeral Home in Fallston. A guest register is available at

A graveside service will be at 4:00 pm Monday at Olive Grove Baptist Church
Cemetery in Casar with Rev. Terrill Crump officiating.
