Mary Margaret Mull Shehan

Mary Margaret Mull Shehan, 95, passed away on Friday, November 9, 2012 at home.  A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late John Plato and Kate Hoyle Mull.  She was also preceded in death by her two husbands, J.F. Gaston and Mitchell Shehan; brother, J. P. Mull, Jr; and sister, Sara Mull Gardner.  Mrs. Shehan graduated from Meredith and Mars Hill College.  She began her career at Statesville General as a nutritionist and later worked as a dietician for Greenville General and Cleveland Memorial and the Hotel Carroll in Gaffney.  She was an active and lifetime member of First Baptist Church where she was in the Faith and Love Sunday school class.  She was also a very active circle member and extension department member.  Mrs. Shehan enjoyed playing bridge and belonged to several bridge clubs.  She was well known and loved for her culinary gifts especially her yeast roll making with her many friends.

 

Mrs. Shehan is survived by nephews, John Mull Gardner and wife Katherine Smith of Shelby, O. Max Gardner III and wife Victoria H. of Shelby, J. P. Mull, III and wife Linda of Milwaukee, OR; niece, Gloria Mull of Alabama; special friend, Dorothy Kilgore; and many other relatives and friends.

 

A celebration of life graveside service will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, November 12, 2012 at Sunset Cemetery.  The Rev. Tony Tench will be officiating.  The family will gather with friends immediately following the graveside service.
