Mary Ruth Campbell Hudson, age 87, died Monday, August 27, 2018, at Hospice Wendover. Born in Rutherford County on May 8, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Robert Willie and Winnie Pearl Hunt Campbell. Mary was a former member of Harbor Baptist Church in Charlotte and a current member of Plainview Baptist Church where she would sing in the choir, work in the kitchen, and help with Vacation Bible School. She retired from Gerber Industries in Charlotte. Mary enjoyed working in the garden, planting flowers and cooking. She loved helping others and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by two sisters, Linda Willis and Dorothy Lookadoo; and four brothers, Forest Campbell, Howard Campbell, Wayne Campbell and Bob Campbell.

Mary is survived by her husband of 48 years, Sherrill K. Hudson; a daughter, Wanda Turner and husband John of Huntersville; three brothers, Donald Campbell and wife Renee of New House, Harold Campbell Jr. of Ellenboro, Oliver Campbell of Lattimore; four sisters, Marjorie Campbell of Mooresboro, Doris Blackwell and husband Butch of Ellenboro, Grace Ramsey of Drexel, and Ruby Outen and husband James of Monroe; two grandchildren, Christy Rawlins and husband Erich, and Chad Turner and wife Stacey; three great grandchildren, Pheyton Rawlins, Rheese Rawlins, and Katherine Turner.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm at Plainview Baptist Church on Thursday, August 30, 2018 with Rev. Marshall Dill officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour before the service in the sanctuary.
