Maude McSwain Whisnant, 95 of Polkville passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024 at her home.

Born in Cleveland County, on August 19, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Hugh Kerr McSwain and Adlissa Fulton McSwain. She loved to garden, read and spend time with family. In addition to contributing countless hours to her church and as a hospice volunteer. Mrs. Whisnant was a homemaker and a member of Polkville Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Whisnant; five brothers and five sisters.

She leaves behind a son, Mark Whisnant of Shelby; two daughters, Gail W. Lane and husband, Bill of Polkville and Beth W. White of Shelby; two granddaughters, Ashley W. McMurry and husband, Joey of Shelby and Jennifer A. Sigmon of Vale; three great-grandchildren, Joshua Ross, Wyatt Sigmon and Bryson McMurry and numerous nieces and nephews that she though fondly of.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 2:00pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. David Irish officiating.

The burial will be private.
