Mavine Wright Willis

Mavine Wright Willis, 92, of Fallston, went to her heavenly home on Monday, December 7, 2020 at Peak Resources, Cherryville.

Born in Cleveland County, on June 23,1928, she was the daughter of the late Clemmie McCoy Wright and Nutrice Novella Greene Wright. She was a graduate of Gardner Webb College and retired form Rose Hill Memorial Park. Mavine was an active member of Friendship United Methodist Church where she was a former Sunday school teacher. She was an excellent seamstress who could make anything from clothing too curtains. Mavine also spent countless hours reading and encouraged her family to read. Her greatest love was her family and spending time with them.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of seventy years, Stough A. Willis and two brothers, Hoyle Wright and Norris Wright.

She is survived by her son, Rodney Willis and wife, Lynn of Belwood; daughter, Judy Tysinger and husband, Doug of Fallston; four grandsons, Joey Tysinger and wife, Jenny, Danny Tysinger and wife, Tammy, Charlie Willis and wife, Lori and Ben Willis and wife, Laura; six great grandchildren, Alex Tysinger, Jacob Tysinger, Cameron Tysinger, Tate Willis, Ellis Willis and Jaxon Self and a special niece, Joy Wilson.

Mrs. Willis will lie in state from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Friday, December 18, 2020 at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home. The family will not be present during this time.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Rose Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Karen Doucette officiating.
